The Orientation Instructor is responsible for facilitating the new driver orientation program. This role is directly accountable for training new commercial drivers on company policies and procedures as well as instruction on hazardous materials, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, skills testing (if applicable), and coordinating DOT physicals and drug tests with local medical providers
Qualifications:
Conduct training in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies and procedures.Collect all student bonus information during orientation and input information by the end of orientation.Administer training survey's and monitor responses. Feedback will be discussed with supervisor.Ensure that all Disqualified drivers have been met with and provided with appropriate information for next steps. Maintain all spreadsheets and reports (student HW, Orientation spreadsheet, etc). Seamless handoff to onboarding and operations once driver are ready to be hired.Communicate daily with all drivers in orientation to address any issues.Assists in the design and development of orientation materials.Coordinate and conduct training for new hires and remedial training using a variety of instructional techniques and formats including but not limited to classroom training, exercises, and e-learning.Conduct Train The Trainer & Family Plan classes.Works with subject matter experts to collect, analyze, and learn operational processes to facilitate the effective delivery of training materials.Stays abreast of current policies and procedures to ensure up to date training of drivers.Ensures all orientation supplies are adequately stocked.Maintain a positive and professional attitude in all circumstances.Assist onboarding team with gathering necessary paperwork to complete driver hiring process.
Requirements:
Ability to communicate and work well with others.Knowledge of developing and delivering training materials.Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).Ability to be flexible and alter schedule to accommodate training needs.Effective communicator.Transportation experience preferred Ability to effectively work with individuals of all backgrounds.High School Diploma or GED required.1 year Transportation experience required.Experience teaching, leading, coaching, or mentoring a plus.CDL Preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $39,998.40-$62,120.37
