Job Description:

Supply Technician Transportation performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Assignments require good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
Perform causative research using standard computer application software to include Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Access. Research documents for completeness and accuracy. Communicate with multiple section leads to ensure transportation request packets are received, forwarded and processed within given time restraints Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. Work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. Require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Exert moderate physical effort in the loading, unloading, and arranging of equipment/supplies. Handle equipment/supplies weighing 30-50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Use a hammer, pliers, wire cutters and other hand-tools when opening containers, breaking wire banding, banding equipment/supplies and performing other supply related tasks. Work inside and outside in dirty and dusty environments, and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, damp and drafty weather conditions while handling equipment/supplies. Perform work on hard or uneven surfaces. Present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift.
Requirements:

Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent (GED). Position requires in depth knowledge of GCSS-Army functions to include license issuance. Possess knowledge of vehicle dispatching, Group Movement Request (GMR), Short Term Rental (STR) processing, Long Term Rental (LTR processing and GSA Drive Thru tracking using Microsoft Excel and Access. Proficient with Microsoft software applications, specifically Word and Excel. Familiar with available current U.S. Army Transformation / Modularity initiatives and activities. Familiar with 2 star-level Army staffing procedures. Possess a working knowledge of military writing and other technical correspondence. Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively. Maintain a valid state drivers' license and obtain (maintain) a Non-Tactical Vehicle (NTV) operator's permit. Obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
