POSITION SUMMARY

The truck driver will perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of the Transportation Department. This driver my operate a tractor with a tanker trailer to pick up products at the supply points and deliver it to area facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Drive assigned Tractor/Tanker trailer to pick up propane/fuel and deliver to assigned facilitiesPerform required daily vehicle inspectionsSafety and efficiently transfer products between transport and bulk storageMaintain DOT compliancePerforming routine inspection and preventive maintenancePerforming all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standardsPerforming other duties as assigned by supervisor
High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experienceOne (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the jobValid Class A State Driver's License with HazMat and Tanker EndorsementsThorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive drivingAbility to safely drive various vehiclesAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general publicAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to work independentlyAbility to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditionsAbility to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk. The employee must consistently lift and/or move 40-60-pounds, and occasionally, have to lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when in the field.
