Position Overview: Truck Driver I
Wilsonart, in Kansas City, currently has an opening for a Truck Driver I. This individual willconduct assigned deliveries. Loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Loads and unloads materialsDrives truck to destinations and returns safelyMaintains truck log according to state and federal regulationsPrepares and maintains required documentationPerforms emergency roadside repairsPositions hazardous material trailer identificationReads maps and plans routes to the load destinationMaintains acceptable driving recordAssists the needs of the customerAssists in the distribution center as necessary or directedPerforms other tasks as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operationsKnowledge of truck hauling proceduresKnowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling proceduresSkill in operating lift trucksAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to work independently and as a team
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GEDMust have a valid Class B Commercial Drivers licenseHazardous material endorsement
EXPERIENCE
1+ years experience Local ExperienceNo chargeable accidents in three years
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS
