Position Overview: Truck Driver I
Wilsonart, in Miami, currently has an opening for a Truck Driver I. This person conducts assigned deliveries and loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Loads and unloads materials
•Drives truck to destinations and returns safely
•Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
•Prepares and maintains required documentation
•Inspects truck equipment and supplies
•Performs emergency roadside repairs
•Positions hazardous material trailer identification
•Reads maps and plans routes to the load destination
•Maintains acceptable driving record
•Assists the needs of the customer
•Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed
•Performs other tasks as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operationsKnowledge of truck hauling proceduresKnowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling proceduresSkill in operating lift trucksAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to work independently
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Graduate or GEDMust have a valid Class B Commercial Driver's licenseHazardous material endorsement and Tanker Endorsement
EXPERIENCE
1+ yearsLocal experienceNo chargeable accidents in three years
PHYSICAL DEMANDSPerforming tasks with team members which includes lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbsContinuous physical exertion such as walking and standing throughout the day is also required.
ENVIRONMENT
Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
