Position Summary:
The Planner is responsible for developing plans and programs to create sustainable and functional urban environments. They analyze and integrate items such as land use, community needs, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental impact to design and improve urban spaces. They are able to communicate their plans clearly and concisely to a variety of stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather and interpret data related to land use, demographics, infrastructure, and environmental impactConduct surveys, feasibility studies, and assess trends to understand community needsDesign land use plans that balance residential, commercial, and public spacesFormulate policies and strategies to enhance sustainability, promote economic growth, and preserve natural resourcesCreate detailed plans for zoning, transportation networks, green spaces, and public facilitiesEngage with local government officials, architects, engineers, developers, and community groups to ensure planning projects align with local and regional goalsFacilitate public consultations and gather community input to understand and incorporate resident concernsDocument plans, strategies, and project progress through comprehensive reports.Present findings and proposals to stakeholders, including public officials, and community membersKeep updated on new urban planning methodologies, zoning laws, and technological advancements in urban design and planningOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Community Planning or Geography from ABET Accredited University requiredMinimum three (3) years' experience in planning or related field preferred
License and Certification:
PE License or AICP Certification preferred

At times, bending, reaching, standing, and walking may be required.
