Position Description

Drive a commercially licensed ready-mix truck for the purpose of hauling ready mix to job sites. Apply chutes to the truck and align the chutes to distribute concrete where necessary. Must have the ability to drive other trucks and combinations. This position is for the 2025 construction season and has an anticipated start date of late April-early May depending on weather.

Duties and responsibilities
Perform pre-trip inspection according to DOT regulations. Must be able to kneel, reach, and maneuver under truck with approximately 2-feet of clearance to properly inspect and/or repair truck/trailerMust be able to climb ladder on the side of the truck to inspect/clean the drum/chutesCheck all fluid levels daily, fill out daily maintenance checklist, and perform daily walk-around inspection, to include greasing as necessary, of equipmentReport need for large repairs to appropriate partiesMaintain driver's log according to DOT regulations and complete timecards legibly and accuratelyComply with company and DOT Drug & Alcohol regulationsComply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulationsHaul materials in a ready-mix truckOperate the truck to obtain the necessary consistency of concreteFollow supervisor's instruction on material pickup and delivery proceduresMay be required to drive combinations with a variety of trailers such as live bottom, end dump, pups, bottom dump, side dump, flatbed, or lowboy. Must be able to hook and unhook these combinations properly. Must be able to turn leg jacks up and down to lift or drop trailerAll other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations
Position Requirements

Qualifications
One year of Commercial driving experience preferredPossess a valid Class A Commercial driver's licenseMust be legally able to drive a manual truckAbility to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and comply with drug and alcohol policies during employment
Working conditions
Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperaturesOccasional exposures to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noisesMay be required to work 60+ hours, 6 or more days a week
